The APSB was founded in 1931 and was the first society for the registration of ponies established in Australia.

Today, there are nine pure bred pony breeds plus two pony registers under the APSB umbrella. No other society can offer so many different pony breeds under the one registration.

The extent of activities suitable for any of the APSB pony breeds is as endless as your imagination. Each breed has proven itself in many fields of equine sports, from the absolute elite of the show world to the fundamental use of a pony as a reliable mount and friend for a child.

Del Haven Lodge is situated in picturesque Mount Egerton, Victoria, Australia, & the proprietors are Charmaine & Danny. Del Haven Lodge breed Pintos, 3rd generation Australian ponies, Palomino, Part-Welsh, Arabian ponies, & Dartmoor ponies.

Domino Downs Miniature pony and Shetland Stud was founded in 1986. Our first stallion was Coombarlah Domino which we named our stud after. one of our first mare's we owned was Omera Vanessa a Skewbald and we still own her today. She has produced some wonderful foals, Shanusti Cherub was one of them who won Junior Champion at Melbourne Royal as a three year old, and many more champions and supreme in the same year. We sadly lost her a few years ago, she left us with a beautiful daughter Domino Downs Cherub's L'il Star.

Our aim is to breed colored Shetland 8.2hh and under up to 10.2hh ponies that are of a high show quality standard.We have achieve this and there are a lot of our good quality colored ponies around today, and we are still breeding them.

We have a new focus to breed good quality APSB & AMPS Registered Palomino and Taffy colored ponies from 8.2hh and under to 10.2hh Shetland.

With our Cremello Stallion, Meardara Bobbie and our Taffy Stallion The Golden Meadow Jack.

We also have Shanusti L'il Gunn and we have had him from a weanling, and he has founded our quality Mini ponies. Our other main smaller stallion is one we bred Domino Downs Goblin and he has produced all broken colored foals to date.

Fenwick Stud is the longest, continuous, Shetland breeding stud in Australia. These days it is quite difficult to find a pony bred in Australia that does not have a Fenwick pony somewhere in its' pedigree. Mrs. Dora Maclean was the woman who founded the Fenwick Shetland and Arabian studs (although at the time of the first imports she was still Miss. Dora Gibson). Dora inherited the property, known as Fenwick, from her father Samuel Gibson who took over the land just North of Melbourne in 1898. He named it Fenwick after the small town in Scotland in which he grew up.

The well known Pentland Shetland Pony Stud was established in 1952. It has been owned and managed by Mrs. Betty Myers, who spent many years studying the Shetland breed, including trips to Britain, the Shetland Isles, Europe and the U.S.A.

Mrs. Myers was nominated by the late Major Maurice Cox and accepted as a Life Member of the Shetland Pony Society of Britain in 1972. She has been a member of the Australian Pony Stud Book Society for 56 years, having served on that Society’s Committee for some years and has been granted a Life Membership of the A.P.S.B.

Pentland Shetland Stud offers you the opportunity to secure outstanding top quality mares and stallions for your stud. Also offered are stud fillies & colts for those wishing to obtain future breeding stock, or for use in their showing program.
